The Hotel Eden Rome
In a city of power and sensory overload the Hotel Eden is a delicate place full of charm and attention to detail.
What I noticed most is the lack of hotel bustle. From my Suite I take a quiet elevator to the 6th floor (top) where I am welcomed with a smile into their incredible restaurant Il Giardino. The view over Rome is beautiful and the delicate design and friendly efficient service is a gorgeous way to start the day. You don’t pass reception or see suitcases and people coming and going. In fact you almost forget you are in a hotel.
The hotel is small which enables the staff to use your name. No “may I have your room number” just “good morning Ms Levy”. It feels lovely.
The issue with some small hotels is the lack of a decent restaurant but not here. They have La Terazza which is Michelin starred and the more relaxed Il Giardino but here’s the joy of this place. It is the same chefs, kitchen, ethos and attention for both so even the breakfast is superb.
The Eden is tucked up behind the Spanish steps and has a quieter residential feel. I am in fact trying to write this blog while sat with my coffee at breakfast but the view is so beautiful I keep getting distracted. The hotel has a gentle old school charm that makes you want to put your phone down and just relax.
